Thanks for the information. We just got our camera and software from Blue Cross and I was going to send out the announcement to the clinicians about this service. Have you contacted CTEC about this? I know they have their contact at managed health care and perhaps they could find out why the claims are denied.

September 2007 Edition Available
Hi guys,
I understand that un-managed (i.e. not blue Cross) Medi-cal still won’t pay the dermatologists for their store and forward readings! What can we do?
This is a problem as it could cripple the program.
FYI, as a community (MODC, NCC, Eureka internal, Eureka family, Olkin & Jones, Redwood family practice) we have sent 100 referrals in the last 12 months for Dermatology consults using Han Pak’s software system, with NCC sending 62 of them, and MODC sending 8. Redwood family is the second highest user with 21 referrals..
Also, we send an avg. of 10-15 referrals per month from TVSC and DNCHC using the Second Opinion software, and HODC has started sending images as well.
The great majority of these are Medi-cal patients.
Thought you should know,
