Christine Martin is one of the countries leading authorities on telehealth program development and operation. Her book, Successful Telehealth Program Development, and the corresponding Program Developer Kit, is being used around the country as a go-to resource for developing and expanding telehealth programs, and is being used as part of a certification program for Telehealth Coordinators. Her leadership has helped organizations develop highly effective, sustainable business models for serving patient populations with telehealth services. Her 15 years experience developing telehealth programs includes directly managing the provision of over 75,000 telehealth visits; developing, implementing, and managing the California State prison system’s telehealth program including the 33 State prisons and a provider center operated by the Department of Corrections; and directing the California Telemedicine and eHealth Center, the Western Regional Telehealth Resource Center.  She is one of the nation’s leaders in developing high volume multi-site telemedicine programs, and has significant experience in all aspects of planning, developing, operating, and evaluating telemedicine programs.

Christine has developed many a number of telehealth program guides including a Best Practices Compendium, a Performance Measurement Tool for telehealth programs and CTEC’s Policy Brief on Optimizing Telehealth that is widely used as a resource for policy developers. She developed the CTEC Center for Applied Telehealth to provide a readily available source of information on the practical application of telehealth and the distribution of best practices and lessons learned. She is a sought after speaker, providing highly motivational and information rich presentations on all aspects of telehealth policy, program development, operations and performance management. Ms Martin serves on many Boards and Expert Panels including the Board of Experts for the California Emerging Technology Fund, the Board of Directors of the California Telehealth Network, and member of the National Rural Health Association Rural HIT Coalition.

Christine holds a Masters of Business in Health Services Management, is certified as a Project Management Professional, and is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Ms. Martin is also a yoga instructor, and applies the principles of balance, ease and strength to the creation of new telehealth programs.
