Telemedicine Training
Telehealth Learning Centers
UC Davis Center for Health and Technology is home to California's first Telemedicine Learning Center, established in 1999 through a partnership between CTEC and the University of California, Davis Medical Center. The Center has developed an internationally acclaimed, hands-on, classroom-based telemedicine training curriculum. These courses embrace a multidisciplinary approach while incorporating discussion, lecture, and hands-on training. The uniquely designed facility offers customized classrooms and fully equipped telemedicine training laboratories.
UC San Diego Telemedicine Learning Center opened in June 2008. This Center is funded by CTEC through generous support of the Blue Shield of California Foundation and the California Endowment. The TLC builds on the existing expertise of the UC San Diego Medical Center and focuses on providing an outstanding educational environment to support the development of telemedicine and telehealth programs throughout Southern California.
University of Arizona Telemedicine Training Center provides instruction in clinical applications, telecommunications infrastructure development and operations, medical legal issues, distance education, and administrative aspects of running a store-and-forward and/or real time telehealth program. The Training Center offers one and two day training conferences.

Regional and National Telehealth Resource Centers
The Federally designated Telehealth Resource Centers (TRC) were designed to assist healthcare organizations, healthcare networks, and healthcare providers in the implementation of cost-effective telehealth programs to serve rural and medically underserved areas and populations.
The five regional TRCs serve as a focal point for advancing effective use of telehealth technologies in their respective communities and regions of the nation. Although each Resource Center specializes in providing services to organizations within their primary service area, the TRCs are committed to working in a collaborative effort to share their resources and expertise to service areas outside of their own regions. There is also one national TRC that addresses legal and regulatory barriers to the effective implementation of telehealth technologies.
The Telehealth Resource Centers are supported through the Telehealth Resource Center Grant Program, which is administered by the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth in the Office of Health Information Technology, Health Resources and Services Administration.
To learn more about the TRCs, you may download a fact sheet or you may click on the individual contact information listed below.
