Telestroke Program at University of California San Diego
The University of California San Diego Medical STRokE DOC Program concluded that telemedicine correctly diagnosed strokes in 98% of the cases in their study compared to 82% correct when diagnosed using a telephone consultation. The study, which began in January 2004, was halted early because the results so strongly favored telemedicine interventions. The study was published in August 2008 in Lancet.
